Pindi records over 450 active patients

RAWALPINDI: As many as 14 people recovered but another 26 contracted Covid-19 as the district reported 462 active patients on Friday.

One person passed away at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Maimoona Khan, 65, a resident of Naseerabad, Koh-i-Noor Mills, was taken to Pims on Jan 7 where she breathed her last on Friday.

Out of the active patients, 86 are in hospitals and 376 are isolated at home. As many as 466 suspected patients are waiting for their Covid-19 serology results.

Out of the new patients, two are from Rawalpindi Cantonment while seven are from the city areas whereas four are from Islamabad and Chakwal.

As many as 70 patients from Rawalpindi district were admitted to government-run hospitals out of whom 15 were in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), nine in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), nine in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), four in Red Crescent Hospital (RCH), one in Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust Hospital and 32 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU).

In the capital, 155 more cases were reported on Friday. Officials said during the last 24 hours, 4,492 tests were conducted and the positivity rate remained 3.4pc.

They said 36 of the cases were in the age group of 30-39 years followed by 31 in 40-49, 29 in 20-29, 19 in 50-59, 15 in 60-69, nine in 10-19, eight in 70-79, seven in 0-9 and one in 80 and above.

Sixteen cases were reported from Loi Bher, 10 each from I-8, G-8, I-10, nine from F-11, eight from F-10, seven from E-11, six each from Rawat, G-10, Tarlai, Kurri, five each from Bhara Kahu, G-7, Sohan, four each from G-6, G-9, F-8, three each from F-6, G-15, two each from G-11, G-5, Khanna, F-7, I-9 Model Town, Kirpa, B-17, H-12, one each from G-13, Sihala, Chirrah, D-12, Rawal Town, G-14, E-7, F-5, and F-15.
