SWABI: Leaders of the opposition parties here have rejected the claims of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf about cracks in Pakistan Democratic Movement and said their alliance is determined to continue its struggle and oust the ‘selected’ government.

They expressed these views while briefly talking to mediapersons at a wedding ceremony here on Sunday. They said that free and fair elections were essential to restore true democracy in the country.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Maulana Fazal Ali said that failure of the PTI government had affected every sector of life and people’s problems had increased manifold.

Awami National Party leader Mukhtiar Khan said the government would succumb to the sea of people who stood with PDM and rejected the policies of PTI leadership.

Qaumi Watan Party former provincial deputy general secretary Masood Jabar said people wanted fresh and transparent elections and restoration of true democracy in the country.

They rejected the claim of the ruling party that there were cracks in the 11-party alliance, saying that minor difference of opinion was part of the democratic process. They said the ruling party had failed to deliver as unemployment and inflation were increasing day by day.

WORKER INJURED: A worker lost his right hand when it got stuck in a machine during work at an industrial unit in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate, said Rescue 1122 officials on Sunday.

The incident occurred at a plastic crush plant where the worker, identified as Sanaullah, was busy in his work. Other workers informed the Rescue 1122 and its team reached there and provided first aid to him. He was later taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Workers Federation demanded that adequate compensation should be paid to the injured worker by the industry owner. They also demanded that free treatment should be provided to the poor worker.
