PESHAWAR: The Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has extended the date of the entry tests for medical and dental colleges to October 18.

Previously, the test was scheduled for September 20. The date has been extended after the approval of the chief minister in light of the orders of the government to conduct all examinations and tests in open spaces instead of indoor halls as per the prescribed Covid-19-induced SOPs.

It is worth mentioning here that in view of the spread of coronavirus the government had directed all the relevant departments as well as institutions to conduct Etea entrance tests according to the SOPs circulated by relevant departments in ventilated outlets and halls of various educational institutions instead of the closed buildings.

More than 50,000 candidates are expected to participate in more than 70 centres in 15 cities.

Instructions have been issued to students, examination and security personnel to wear masks and keep physical distance of six feet.

Meanwhile, according to information issued by the KMU directorate of admissions, the registration for the entry test has started as per the schedule from August 24, while the registration process would now continue till Sept 21 after the extension of the test date.

Scratch cards for registration are available at 31 different branches of the MCB bank at a cost of Rs3,000, and applicants can register themselves by logging on to the official website of KMU.
