Further decrease recorded in new Covid-19 cases

ISLAMABAD: A slight decrease was seen in the number of new Covid-19 positive cases as 19 people tested positive on Tuesday compared to 24 on Monday.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 766 tests were conducted in the city.

Four cases were reported from Chak Shahzad, three from Tarlai, two each from G-10, F-7, E-11 and one each from Loi Bher, G-9, Kurri and D-13. The addresses of two patients were not known.

With the new patients the tally of the confirmed cases reached 15,095 in the capital. Out of the total, 12,732 patients have recovered and 167 died. At present, there are 2,196 active cases in the capital.

Since the outbreak, the highest number of positive cases were reported from Lohi Bher with 1,044 followed by 841 from I-8, 722 from G-8, 721 from G-7, 698 from G-9, 662 from I-10, 631 from G-6, 615 from Bhara Kahu, 609 from G-10, 594 from Tarlai, 450 from G-11, 405 from Rawat, 401 from Khanna, 377 from Sohan, 374 from F-6, 359 from E-11, 342 from G-13, 330 from Chak Shahzad, 322 from F-11 and 309 from I-9.

Likewise, 279 cases were reported from F-10, 278 from F-8, 240 from Alipur, 211 from F-7, 201 from G-5, 138 from Kural, 124 from H-13, 109 from F-5, 102 from G-15, 93 from Rawal Town, 92 each from Kurri and Jhangi Syedan, 65 from Model Town, 64 each from Tarnol and Kirpa, 61 from E-7, 59 from Bari Imam, 56 from Chirrah, 55 from H-8, 48 each from Shah Allahditta and G-14, 46 each from B-17 and Sihala, 44 from H-11, 43 each from D-12 and D-17, 38 from I-14, 36 from G-12, 33 from Pind Begwal, 32 each from Phulgran and F-17, 30 from F-15, 29 from E-9, 26 from I-11, 22 from Saidpur, 17 each from E-8 and Gokina, H-9; 16 from E-16, 15 each from ASF camp and H-12, 14 from I-12, 12 from I-13, 10 from E-18.

Likewise, eight cases were reported from Tumair, seven from E-10, five each from F-13 and I-16, four each from D-15 and E-14, three each from B-12, G-16, and G-18, two from Mumtaz City, one each from D-18, D-13, D-14, E-12, E-13, E-15, F-12, F-18, H-10, H-14, I-17, I-18, and Top City. The addresses of 1121 confirmed cases were not known.

Rawalpindi

Only six people tested positive in Rawalpindi while 94 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery. However, one patient died of the virus at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

The 60-year-old resident of Ghazi Colony was isolated in his house and shifted to the hospital on August 3.

After the new patients, the number of positive cases in the district increased to 6,541 while 276 people have died and 6,087 others discharged after recovery from four hospitals.

However, 103 suspected patients are waiting for their results from laboratories of Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), Holy Family Hospital (HFH), District Headquarters Hospital and the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology.

Total 178 confirmed patients are under treatment, including 111 in the four government hospitals and 67 patients isolated in their homes. The local administrations also keep 6,818 people on quarantine who had been close contacts of the confirmed patients.

According to data, 7,876 people tested positive in the Rawalpindi division in the last four months - 6,541 in Rawalpindi, 578 in Attock, 465 in Jhelum and 283 in Chakwal.

Moreover, 342 people died of the virus in the four districts - 276 in Rawalpindi, 20 in Attock, nine in Jhelum and 37 in Chakwal.

So far, 6,087 patients have recovered from the disease in Rawalpindi, 510 in Attock, 439 in Jhelum and 235 in Chakwal.
