Six to 12 schools to be set up in each UC

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education Akbar Ayub Khan on Wednesday said that the provincial government was considering establishing six to 12 schools with all modern facilities in each union council.

He stated this while talking to a delegation of UK-funded international organisation DFID here, according to this news agency.

The minister said that it had been proposed that the primary schools across the province should be turned into co-education, and that female teachers should be appointed there to enable maximum enrolment of children in such schools without any hurdle.

Mr Ayub Khan told the delegation that as many as 65,000 teachers would be appointed in the province, including the merged districts, during the next three years, saying that the KP government in collaboration with the international organisations would ensure provision of all facilities to the schools across the province, especially in the merged districts .
