Yemen dilemma

THIS is apropos your editorial ’Yemen dilemma’ (Nov 9). Foreign Minister Shah Mahmud Qureshi rightly told the Senate on Wednesday that the PTI government would not send Pakistani troops to Yemen, where a Saudi-led war has wrought devastation and caused a humanitarian catastrophe.

Pakistan cannot avoid Saudi pressure. But it cannot also play any destructive role in the Yemen conflict. Neutrality is the only way for Islamabad.

Pakistan and other regional powers should work together to help Saudi-Iran anger cool down.
