Protest at absence of officials from land registration offices

GUJRANWALA: A score of people, including women, blocked on Friday Gujranwala-Sialkot Road in front of the DC office against delay in the registration of their land.

A few weeks ago, assistant sub-registers Zulfiqar Ali Bhoon and Sardar Ahad Dogar were transferred and Mobeen and Khurram Hameed replaced them. Both sub-registers did not take charge for several days which created a backlog putting several applicants in problems.

The successors took charge a few days ago but because of the piles of files and poor security, they refused to work.

This irked the applicants who protested outside the DC office. They demanded that the deputy commissioner take notice of the situation. The deputy commissioner has directed the sub-registrar office to resolve people’s problems.
