Haji Hassanali P. Begum Tayabii, President of the National Federation of the Blind and Adult Blind Centre Karachi, recalled the visit to Karachi of Miss Helen Keller in May 1955 “as wonderful experience for all of us” and her contribution in the welfare of blind and dumb.

Begum Nargis Jevanjee, Honorary General Secretary of the National Federation of the Blind, said she was a great woman who gave vision to many a blind and hearing to many a deaf. “She has lit the path for all those who have the welfare and well-being of the blind, deaf and dumb at heart.
