FARHATULLAH Babar, an experienced and dedicated PPP worker, has been removed from his post as spokesperson for the party and its co-chairman.

There is a dual narrative in the media about him — that he has resigned on his own or that his removal is the result of his criticism of his party’s policies.

I wonder how a party which has millions of supporters in the country can make a decision to remove a worker who was loyal to the party in hard times. Institutions always respect workers and allow them to have their say in a democratic way.

Why didn’t the party and its leadership decode the message he was to convey to the parliament in his farewell speech?Mr Babar should be restored to his position.
