Teenager allegedly killed by friends

ISLAMABAD: A teenager was allegedly killed by his friends for unknown reasons, police officials said on Saturday.

Adnan Masih, 17, left his home in G-7/1 with friends on Friday, at around 7:15pm, police said. His body was recovered from a park in G-7/2 in the early hours of Saturday.

Police moved the body to a hospital for legal procedures, they said. The deceased appeared to have been killed using a sharp metal object.

The deceased’s father, Shoukat Masih, identified the body for the police at Polyclinic.

They said Mr Masih, a sanitation worker at the Capital Development Authority, told the police two of his son’s friends came to his home and called Adnan outside. Adnan then left with his friends.

They were later spotted sitting near the Sitara Market greenbelt, police quoted him as saying, and left the area in a taxi.

The Aabpara police have registered a murder case against the deceased’s friends in response to a complaint from his father, they added.

Sarfaraz Khokhar, the victim’s uncle, told Dawn Adnan left the house with Rs200 that he got from his father to buy clothes.

The police recovered a total of Rs1,700 from the body of the deceased, he said, adding that the reason behind the killing was unknown.
