The LWMC board of directors independently shortlists candidates and sends these to the CDGL which is bound under the law to get it approved from the chief minister, says Mr Alam.

About the delay of six months in selecting candidates for the slot, Mr Alam said the post had been advertised twice to have maximum applications.
