KARACHI: The prized bat of Pakistan’s record-breaking batsman Younis Khan with which he had surpassed great Javed Miandad’s record aggregate of runs in Test matches for the country last year, was auctioned for a bumper amount of rupees two million at the Indus Hospital’s Family Carnival at PAF Museum here on Monday.

Younis, who has joined hands with Indus Hospital in a fund raising campaign which is aimed at the hospital’s expansion, had donated his bat for auction last year and it fetched rupees two million after a month of bidding from a large number of people for the legendary player’s autographed bat.

The bat was eventually lapped up by a Karachi bidder who wishes to remain anonymous.

The Hospital organised and hosted its very first family carnuival which was aimed to inculcate further awareness of TIH cause amongst general public and simultaneously raise funds for patient treatment and expansion of the hospital which originally started with 150 beds and is now aiming to expand to 1800 beds, CEO Professor Abdul Bari Khan said.
