PTI asks Nadra to submit poll reports to commission

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) urged the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Friday to submit all its analysis reports on the 2013 general elections to the recently constituted Judicial Commission.

The request was made by PTI Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen in a letter written to the Nadra chairman.

The PTI leader said in the letter that the first public hearing of the Judicial Commission tasked with investigating alleged irregularities and rigging in the elections was scheduled for April 16 and the commission had sought proposals and material from political parties that had participated in the polls.

The letter said that Nadra had been directed from time to time by various election tribunals established to hear and decide election petitions to prepare and submit reports along with thumb impressions on counterfoils.

It said the PTI understood that Nadra had prepared and submitted analysis reports in respect of at least 37 constituencies of both the National and provincial assemblies from across the country.

“These Nadra Analysis Reports are public documents,” Mr Tareen said, adding that the PTI wishes to submit to the commission all analysis reports prepared by Nadra to-date and, therefore, requests it to provide to the PTI certified copies of these reports.
