Talking points: Improving the literary festivals in Pakistan

The rise in popularity of literary festivals in Pakistan has generated a heated debate about their merits and demerits, their purpose and utility and, perhaps most importantly, their methodology.

As thousands of people flock to these events every year in places as culturally varied as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Faisalabad, it is worth discussing what direction our literary festivals should be taking and how they can improve.

Dawn.com invites its readers to join the conversation by answering the question above. Selected comments will be published in the Herald’s March 2015 issue.
