Website review: Geogreetings

HEY kids, what do you do if you have to greet someone or want to send a message? Perhaps you text them, but why always use the same old ‘sms’ through mobile or send a message on any social media application/website?

Geogreeting.com is a very cool and unique website that lets you send any message with letters made from aerial view of buildings that resembled letters of the alphabets (via Google Maps). Yes, this is as simple and unique as it sounds. So to amaze your friends by sending a greeting, just type in your message (not more than 40 characters) and then see Geogreetings how Google maps locate various buildings from around the world, resembling the letters you just typed. Each letter also includes a pop-up showing the name of the building and its location.

You can see the preview as you type and when finished just copy the link and share it via email. Your friends will click on the bubble: “The surface of the earth holds a message for you, you just need to look a little closer!” and they will be delivered with your message in a cool way.

The idea of sending a message in this way came to the creator of the website by seeing buildings in Google Maps. So he decided to put them together as a way to send a message to friends and family members. However, finding a building that represents a letter when viewing an aerial view through Google Earth is not an easy task therefore, a small community of users now helping him find buildings for this website. So kids, greet your friends with earth surface on Geogreeting.com
