PESHAWAR: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday served a show cause notice on its MPA Javed Naseem for violating party discipline by reportedly conducting media trial of the party leaders.

The notice served by PTI president KP chapter, Azam Swati said that Naseem had violated the party discipline by making the party issues public.

It said that any allegations against the party’s provincial lawmakers must have been brought to the notice of Chairman Imran Khan instead of speaking about it in the media.

The MPA from PK-3 constituency has been asked to explain his position in a week’s time otherwise ‘action would be taken against him’.

Earlier speaking at a press conference at Aman Park Sher Shah Soori Road, Javed Naseem had warned the party leadership that he would expose corruption of provincial ministers and their relatives.

Accompanied by his voters, Naseem chanted “Go Khattak Go” slogans, accusing the KP chief minister and the cabinet members of corruption and nepotism in the province. He said that he would expose the corrupt PTI leaders on October 15.

The PTI MPA said that he would stage a sit-in in front of the chamber office and expose their misappropriation. He also said that he would put up a legal fight against the ‘corrupt party leaders’ as according to him they were working against the true ideology of Imran Khan and the PTI.

The party, along with Dr Tahirul Qadri’s PAT, has been staging an anti-government protest sit-in in Islamabad for the last more than 50 days and had earlier rejected allegations levelled in a ‘white paper’ by federal government about the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, PTI information secretary Shireen Mazari, MNA Asad Umar and four provincial ministers claimed that the allegations were baseless.

The ‘white paper’, titled “A great betrayal in the name of change: performance overview of the KP government (May 2013-Septtember 2014)”, highlighted what the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif termed the unfulfilled promises of the PTI.
