QUETTA: A traffic accident in Balochistan's Sibi district has killed 10 people and injured more than a dozen others on Friday evening, police said.

Officials said a passenger bus and Mazda truck collided in Bala Nari area of Sibi district. The injured were rushed to civil hospital Sibi for medical treatment.

Police said the driver of the passenger bus was over speeding and lost the control of the bus, which subsequently collided with a Mazda truck that was coming from the opposite side.

Both vehicles were severely damaged during the accident.

Nashad Baloch, a local journalist told Dawn.com that four of the injured succumbed to their wounds on the way to the hospital.

He said the hospital lacked medical facilities to treat the injured.

Balochistan has seen a sharp rise in traffic accidents, which has claimed several lives.

This incident has come a few days after four people were killed in a road accident on Quetta's airport road area.
