ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior MInister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday barred all employees of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) from making any contact with foreign nationals, DawnNews reported.

During his visit at the Nadra headoffice in Islamabad, the interior minister also ordered an audit of all regional offices of the organisation.

Nisar further said that 361 ghost employees had been detected in Nadra and the payment of their salaries had been stopped.

He further said that the services 12 Nadra employees were terminated for issuing illegal Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).

Talking about the peace talks between the government and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Nisar said that there had been progress on the issue which had entered a sensitive stage now.

He further said that direct mediation between the two sides would take place soon.
