Balochistan is holding its local government elections today. While polling was underway smoothly in parts of the province, unrest was reported from others along with reports that in some areas the process began after substantial delays. Parts of the province were also experiencing shutter-down and wheel-jam strikes called by separatist groups active in the impoverished province.
