Two sisters killed in pursuit of justice

SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 24: Rivals gunned down two women on Thursday in Ajnianwala when they stepped out of their house to go to district courts to pursue the murder cases of their husbands and other family members, police said.

Sisters Shahnaz and Mumtaz Bibi were shot at and killed at the doorstep allegedly by Muhammad Boota and Aslam for pursuing the murder cases of their husbands and other family members, who were gunned down three years back.

As the rivals’ deadly ambushes had left no males in the family, Shahnaz and Mumtaz had taken upon themselves to fight the alleged killers through the judicial system, local residents say.

The incident spark panic in the locality and students did not attend their schools, police said.

The Sadar Farooqabad shifted the bodies to the city mortuary for autopsy.
