MANSEHRA, Sept 8: The local administration has designated a separate place in the city here for small time vendors.

Mansehra deputy commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Shah inaugurated the point here the other day and ordered the municipal committee to shift small venders and handcart sellers there.

He said it would help smooth flow of traffic on city roads and pedestrian could move easily.

Tasleem Khan, assistant commissioner, and Haroonur Rasheed, the president of trader’s body, were also present on the occasion. Mr Shah said that the local administration created this point at the heart of the city so vendors could earn their living in a respectable way.

Mr Shah said that city administration was utilising all its energies for improving civic services to the people. He also asked traders and citizens to cooperate with the administration to make the city clean and polluted free.

He said that the slaughter house had also been shifted out of the city as it was causing pollution. “The district administration has also leased out the general bus stand which will fetch Rs30 million per year to be spent on public welfare,” said Mr Shah.Speaking on the occasion, president of local trader’s body, Haroon-ur-Rasheed said that business community would help the administration in keeping the city clean. He said that accommodating small vendors and pushcart owners at a separate place was commendable step.
