Girl alleges rape by faith healer

TOBA TEK SINGH, July 30: Rescue 1122 officials shifted a teenaged girl to Toba District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday evening who was poisoned by a faith healer in the Bakhshi Park locality.

Alleged victim (S) of Rajana, a student of class 10, cried out for help outside the house of faith healer Azhar Abbas Shamsi, alias Mithu Shah, that she was brought there by her mother for treatment. She alleged that Pir not only raped her for three months by administering her sedatives but also shot a footage of her naked body to blackmail her.

She said when she threatened the accused that she would approach police against him, the pir promised to marry her but later offered her liquid spiked with poison to get rid of her.

Once she felt that her condition was deteriorating, she came out of the house and informed the people about the situation. A Rescue 1122 ambulance shifted her to DHQ Hospital.

City police muharrar Safdar Ali said he had only come to know about the incident through the media.
