LAHORE, Oct 3 Selecting various rather little-known and under performing players the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) has announced its two teams for the forthcoming Quaid-i-Azam Trophy (first class tournament), starting across the country from Oct 10.

Surprisingly not a single boy from the North Zone was selected in either side. The Zone has almost 36 clubs, situated in the Old city area which has provided a good number of Test cricketers.

In Lahore Shalimar, which has been placed in group 'A' to play with departmental teams, Hasan Dar, Hamza Piracha, Yawer Abbas, Ali Tahir and Rizwan Ahmad Junior are almost unknown. Ali Raza will lead the team.

In Lahore Ravi, Hasan Javed, Wasim Ishtiaq, Mohammad Farhan, Aasim Naz are also quite unknown. The captain of the team is yet to be decided.

As the PCB has decided to hold the Quaid-i -Azam Trophy first, delaying its second tier of Inter-district Senior championship till April, open trials were held last week to select the team.
