PESHAWAR Chairman Special Support Group Lt. Gen Nadeem Ahmad has said that Pakistan Army is taking effective steps to make the process of registration of the IDPs of South Waziristan transparent.
More than 27000 IDPs families of South Waziristan have been registered. He was talking to media-persons at the Sports Stadium Ratha Kulachi, D.I.Khan on Wednesday.
Station Commander, Commissioner D.I.Khan Hamayun Khan, Chairman NADRA Ali Arshad Hakim and representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations were present on the occasion.
Lt. Gen Nadeem Ahmad said that operation Rahi-Nijat against militants in South Waziristan is progressing successfully. The affectees of this operation are doing their registration in the centers in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank.
He said that in the first phase 11000 families were registered while in the second phase 20000 families from South Waziristan have been registered.
He said that in order to facilitate the IDPs their registration and distribution of relief goods is taking place at the Sport Stadium D.I.Khan simultaneously.
He said that for the children of the affectees of South Waziristan evening classes in 10 schools of D.I.Khan would be started soon.
Lt. Gen Nadeem Ahmad said that special support group will soon provide clean drinking water to the IDPs settled in Tank and Mobile Hospitals of Pak-Army will soon be established for them.
He said that ATM cards will soon be issued to the effectees of South Waziristan after their registration and distribution of relief for which more centers will be established.
He said that so far Rs. 18 million has been distributed among more than 5000 IDPs families form South Waziristan. He paid rich tributes to the Non-Governmental Organizations for their dedication and selfless services for the IDPs. -APP
