HYDERABAD, June 29 The Institute of Sindhology, University of Sindh, has established a Malakhro (local wrestling) corner at its museum.

Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui inaugurated the corner while a large number of scholars and teachers attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor said that culture is mirror of society and added that the Institute of Sindhology has done a good job in the preservation of Sindh's history and culture. He said that the institute would be provided required facilities for the promotion of culture, history and literature of Sindh.

He said that workers of Sindhology should work hard and their work would be appreciated and rewarded by the society.

Rustam-i-Sindh Ghulam Sarwar Jatoi, who specially attended the ceremony, said that Malh is a traditional and the oldest sport of Sindh. He appreciated contribution of the institute to promotion of traditions and culture of Sindh.

Director of the institute, Shoukat Hussain Shoro, highlighted the efforts and achievements of the institute in different areas.

Saeed Mangi, the artist who has developed the corner, said that during a short period, the institute has set up many memorial corners which include Dr N.A. Baloch corner, G.M. Syed corner, Jiji Zarina Baloch corner, Mir's Darbar and now Malh corner.He appreciated efforts of Sultan Chandio, Ms Razia Tariq and other artists who helped him in the development of Malakhro corner.

grant Vice Chancellor of University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, has said that the university is second among the universities of Pakistan which will be getting more grant from the government in the current financial year.

He was addressing employees of the university working at boys' hostels at a reception hosted by the management of hostels on Monday.

The vice chancellor said that keeping in view the progress and achievements and considering efforts of the university, the government has increased the grant of the university.
