Nadey-e-Ali Zaidi to launch singing career

Nadey-e-Ali Zaidi is no stranger to the people working within the entertainment industry, although he may not be a well-known figure featured on the mainstream media. Reknown Pakistani singer, Nayyara Noor's older son and the older brother of Jafar Zaidi (of Kaavish fame), he is also currently managing the band, Fuzon.

He's been working on his own solo album, and although we've known about it for some time now, he's remained tight-lipped about it, till now. When asked about where he gets his inspiration from, he laughs saying that, “Well, I come from a family of musicians!” adding that he's been friends with the members of the music industry for the past 12 years, their consistent encouragement added to his passion for creating his own body of work in music.

When told that some members of the fraternity consider him to be a better vocalist than his brother, Jafar, he declines to give a definitive verdict, instead giving an amused response of “I've been told that too!” He added that they have similar vocal tones. Perhaps that is what draws the comparisons.

The video for his first single, Parkhaa, directed by Sohail Javed, is complete and ready to go on the airwaves. Nadey says that the song was inspired by his daughter, Inaaya, and reflects how his life is right now. The song was previously sung by his mother, Nayyara Noor, the version of which hasn't been released as yet. The poetry is by Meera Ji with a few subtle changes, and an addition of stanzas made by his father.

The album, which is currently tiled Barkha (“key lakhon pir” adds Sohail Javed with a laugh) and is in its preliminary stages. Unwilling to name the people working on or expected to work on the album, in case he may jinx it, Nadey adds that he plans to ask some pretty “big names” to collaborate both vocally and musically to the album. — HS
