Dawn goes mobile

Just when you think you have the future of web publishing all figured out – something or the other breaks ground again showing you that predictions can often be fruitless. Various poll results have shown that where users would not pay for reading news online, they would most certainly pay for reading news on mobile applications instead!

Mobile phones are rapidly becoming an important delivery channels today. ‘News on the go’ is that latest luxury consumers worldwide are getting hooked on and why not – it’s fast, convenient, reliable and cheap. Following suit, Dawn.com has now decided to join the bandwagon and offer it’s a readers an option that’s literally a click away.

Thousands of readers in Pakistan and worldwide get their daily dose of online news through Pakistan’s first news portal, Dawn.com. Evolving in content, size and readership, the website now offers a news application which can be downloaded from Dawn.com and used instantly. A reader can now get the latest breaking news, match scores, entrainment buzz and political developments through his cell phone without the hassle of browsing.

For now this widget is only available on a number of Nokia devices but we intend to eventually bring it to all mobile phones.
