MUMBAI, April 16: After the suspension of the Bangladesh and Pakistani umpires, now it is the turn of the Sri Lankan umpires to face the music on match-fixing saga.

“The three Sri Lankan umpires violated the Code of Conduct and the action is likely to be taken,” the well-placed source from Colombo suggested.

“The fact-finding committee has completed the investigations and the report is likely to be discussed by the higher authorities and they may be suspended between 2-5 years,” the source added.

All the three Sri Lankans umpires — Gamini Dissanayake, Sagara Gallage and Maurice Winston — along with now banned Bangladeshi and Pakistani umpires, were caught in India TV sting operation where they agreed to fix the matches or sale the inside information on pitch and toss.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), now busy with the elections, may announce the suspension of the three umpires this month.
