QUETTA: Punjab's former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif assured on Wednesday that the grievances of Baloch masses would be addressed if Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) won the forthcoming general elections.
Shahbaz Sharif met with Balochistan National Party chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal on Wednesday during which the PML-N and BNP - Mengal agreed on seat to seat adjustments in Balochistan during the polls.
Shahbaz Sharif stated that the grievances of Baloch masses were genuine and that his party gave high importance to Balochista.
He added that "Balochistan is heart of Pakistan".
The former chief minister said people of Balochistan were subjected to injustices in the past adding that Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was murdered during military rule in the country.
He demanded of the care taker government and election commission of Pakistan to address apprehensions and reservations of Sardar Akhtar Mengal regarding the elections.
Speaking on the occasion Sardar Akhtar Mengal reiterated that his party's workers were receiving threats from death squads adding that conspiracies were being hatched against his party to distance it from the elections.
Mengal also demanded the recovery of missing persons.
