James Cameron has revealed that he had it tough making 'Avatar' as compared to Sir Peter Jackson with the 'Lord of the Rings'.

According to reports, the 59-year-old filmmaker, who is planning to direct Avatar 2, said in an interview with Life Goes Strong that he has spoken to Jackson about the challenges of creating a film not based on a novel, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The 'Terminator' director said that making the sequels was easy for Jackson because they were based on a book, but for him it is difficult to make the second part of the science fiction film as he has to create his own books in his head and extract a script from it.

He added that he is deep into the second movie and living in Pandora, which is the fictional universe he created for the film.
