It is strange that Pakistanis are becoming illegal immigrants in almost all the non- muslim countries.

I think , considering the situation back home, Indian authorities should let them stay on humanitarian grounds. Maybe give asylum etc. Otherwwise, especially if they're non Sunni's or other religion based, safer they stay hidden in India than return.

I am sure these Pakistanis are not reading the comments on various discussion boards of Dawn and ET etc where all commentators are shouting that India is very bad and the life of Muslims is pathetic in India. Wonder they do not desire to the land of the pure?

as far as i know if a pakistni or indian want to visit each other a letter has to be obtained from a sponsor, mostly from a family incase of personal visit, so in that case it would be easy to find the missing pakitanis, just pick up their sponsor, bec moost of these missing person could be terrorist, either trainning local or setting up sleeper cells its a very dangerous situation

Don't you find it strange many Indians too are becoming illegal immigrants in all most all over the World? Ddid you find it strange that during the mid-80s brawl in India many Indians became illegal immigrant in Pakistan?

I will like to request Maharashtra government and have a different approachto deal with these missing pakistanis.iff instead of scaring them by saying that states police has been asked to find them and take appropriate action,we should declare that an extension in their visa's will be considered iff they decide to come out of hiding and so that their stay becomes legal and those who remain in hiding even after this then a joint action with pakistani law enforcement and indian police should comd and identyfy them and let pakistani government deal with them.I think even at border Indian and pakistani joint effort should be used to solve problems like somebody beheading Indian soldiers and try to find their heads instead of keep on repeating that pakistani army is well trained Army and can never do something like this.just tell them lo come on lets try to find those heads and later try to find who was involved in that act..this policy will work to solve every problem between two countries.please give your openion about my proposal and please ask the politicians to declare that they will try to solve every problem between India and pakistan before you give them your Vote.

107 out of over 1 billion, not even mathematically a concern. How you are going to catch them, we all look alike? Unless Indian Police start checking the lower half of billion citizens. Then what do you do with females deserters? Either way it may be a great outsourcing opportunity, a proud gigs for Indians.

haris - Ok for a time being accept that "Indians too are becoming illegal immigrants". But I doubt about that. Basic difference is Indians don't curse these countries and do anything to migrate to these countries what pakistanis does. Look at pakistanis visas are not given to them forget about non muslim countries. Even muslim countries like UAE, Abu Dhabi,etc are also not giving visas to pakistanis.

For all we know these may be ordinary decent people who cannot get an extension of their visas easily. If fleeing persecution, better life, medical treatments are the most likely reasons for them to stay beyond their visa period we should feel good about it. Being a large supplier of immigrants to the western world, I dont think we should have dual standards. As far as terrorists go they seem to have ways to come in, out side the visa controls and other legal means. Lets stop harrassing ordinary people on both sides of the border..holding up fishermen..getting worked up about a few dozen visa overstayers etc..

I am pretty sure, that's whats happening at ground level. If that weren't happening, many thousands of 'illegal' refugees from many neighboring countries wouldn't be staying in India. But of-course there are safety issues and such asylums can't be unconditionally offered.

So what 107, there are 50 million Bangladeshi lives in India Illegally but they don't create any violence and not breaking any law and order thats why India don't have any objection about them. If Pakistani lives in India peacefully without visa then India also will not have any objection about them.
