KARACHI: Pakistan’s trade deficit fell by 10 per cent for the first eight months of the fiscal year 2012-3.

Trade deficit fell for the first eight months of the fiscal year 2012/13 (July-February) to $13.18 billion, compared with a deficit of $14.66 billion for the same period last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said.

Exports rose to $15.884 billion in (July-February) from $15.128 billion and imports to $29.069 billion from $29.788 billion.

On a monthly basis, the trade deficit fell to $1.548 billion in February from $1.740 billion the previous month.
