PESHAWAR, Feb 23: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Shaukatullah has said 2,600 additional posts of teachers have been created for Fata to resolve problem of teaching staff deficiency in the area.

Talking to a jirga from Kurram Agency, which called on him here on Saturday, the governor announced to give laptop computers to all three top position holders who passed recent secondary school and higher secondary school examinations from each tribal agency.

MNA Sajid Hussain Turi led the jirga, according to a handout.Mr Shaukatullah also promised to increase amount of merit scholarships for the students hailing from Fata.

He said Kurram Agency would get its due share from 2,600 additional posts of teachers. Responding to various points raised by the jirga members, the governor said the people of Fata had gone through extremely difficult circumstances due to terrorism. However, he added the tribal people had the capability to overcome their problems on their own.

The governor asked the people of Kurram to maintain unity in their ranks to defeat designs of terrorists. He said people of Fata needed to be given ample opportunities at local level to resolve their problems.

The governor assured to resolve grievances of the people regarding hurdles at certain checkposts along the Parachinar-Chapri road in Kurram Agency.

Meanwhile, the Governor Shaukatullah eulogised the efforts of the jirga which he recently constituted to resolve a murder dispute between two families one each from Bajaur Agency and Rawalpindi.
