ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Saturday said that caretaker prime minister would be nominated in consultation with all stakeholders.

Speaking to a private TV channel, he said that elections would be held on time and under the supervision of a powerful election commission.

The information minister said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government has introduced consensual democracy in the country's politics and all the matters would be solved with consensus of all political parties.

He said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will have all powers to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

Kaira said that caretaker government will have no influence on the upcoming polls and the ECP would exercise full powers to conduct free and fair elections.

He said that assemblies would be dissolved by mid of next month, after completing their democratic tenure.

Kaira said that all the stakeholders want free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
