MQM provincial ministers Khawaja Izharul Hasan and Khalid bin Wilayat reached Governor House and after meeting the governor, submitted their resignations.

According to Khalid bin Wilayat, 11 resignations have been given to the governor.

Provincial minister Khawaja Izharul Hasan said that it is a wrong perception that MQM has come into the opposition due to some planning.

Meanwhile MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari has said there is no possibility that their party will return to the government after having tendered in their resignations.

"Any decision regarding alliances will be made after the election," he said.

Speaking to the media at Lahore Airport, Sabzwari said that there is no intention regarding seat adjustments with any party.

"MQM will participate in the election by itself," he said.

At the same time during a talk with the media at Punjab House, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that an alliance with the PPP again will be very difficult.

"After the resignations are accepted, the Sindh governor will also resign from his position," he said.

He said the primary reasons for parting ways with the government is the withdrawal of cases of those involved in the Lyari gang war, along with non-implementation of local government system.
