PESHAWAR, Feb 13: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) and Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) have agreed to upgrade the industrial estates, rehabilitate the infrastructure and work for improvement of industrialisation in the province.

Speaking at a meeting of businessmen at KPCCI here the other day, SDA chairman Waqar Ayub assured the chamber members and leaders that first phase of rehabilitation work on the Hayatabad and Hattar industrial estates would be completed within three months.

Similarly, he said rehabilitation work on the infrastructure in Gadoon Industrial Estate would be initiated in the second phase, saying no plots would be allotted in the industrial estates for commercial purposes.

The meeting was presided over by the KPCCI president Dr Mohammad Yousuf Sarwar. Other leaders of the chamber, including senior vice president Malik Iftikhar Ahmed Awan, KPCCI’s former president Sufi Bashir Ahmed Durrani, Affan Aziz, Haji Mohammad Asif and Malik Niaz Ahmed also attended the meeting.

Earlier, Dr Yousuf demanded upgradation of the industrial estates, rehabilitation of the infrastructure and development of the industries.
