BAGHDAD: Iraq has issued a tender to buy a minimum of 15,000 tonnes of basmati rice of Indian and Pakistani origin, the trade ministry said on Wednesday.
The bidding deadline is March 3 and offers must remain valid until March 7, a ministry statement said.
Iraq is one of the world’s largest importers of rice, much of which goes to supply a massive national food ration programme.
