SUKKUR, Feb 10: Four persons of a family received burn injuries when a fire broke out in their home due to gas leakage in the village of Dino Mako near Mirpur Mathelo in district Ghotki in the early hours on Sunday.

According to reports, Qazi Wahid Bux, an employee of health department, switched on a gas heater in a room due to cold weather. Some time late in the night the gas supply was suspended because of loadshedding, but when the supply was resumed, gas leaked from the heater accumulated in the room.

In the early hours, due to power loadshedding, when Qazi Wahid Bux stroke a match to light a candle light, the gas caught fire and injured his wife Mst Razia, son Manzoor and daughter Sadaf. Some household items also caught fire.

Meanwhile, four persons were injured in a collision between a car and a motorcycle in the area of Kori Khoo near Mirpur Mathelo in district Ghotki on Sunday.

The injured were identified as motorcyclist Saibatullah, resident of the village of Chakar Kolachi, and the car occupants as Nazir Ahmed, Ms Khanzadi and five-year-old Kanawal.
