ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday expressed its indignation at the lack of progress in the Hajj corruption case, DawnNews reported.

A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing the case in Islamabad today.

Chief Justice Iftikhar inquired as to the recovery of the Rs 43 million lost in the corruption, as well as the lack of arrests in the case investigation, particularly of prime suspect Ahmed Faiz, who is an alleged middleman and proclaimed offender in the case.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) legal director Azam Khan responded that the officer investigating the case, Hussain Asghar, had been provided with a team he required.

He further said that about 30 witness testimonies had been recorded in the investigation so far.
