LAHORE, Feb 4: The Lahore Division administration on Monday allotted alternate sites through balloting to those whose petrol pumps were demolished to make way for the Metro Bus System (MBS) project.
In a meeting of a committee entrusted with the allotment task, Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik said officials engaged the stakeholders in the transparent process to identify and categorising the demolished petrol stations in terms of their location, daily income, required alternate sites through A, B and C groups.
The commissioner initiated the balloting process and announced allotting alternate sites to owners of the demolished filling stations.
The DCO, the ADC (Revenue) and office bearers of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers and Owners Association also attended the meeting and witnessed the balloting.
The commissioner asked the petrol pump owners to immediately start doing their business at the new place. “If you face any problem, let us know as we are here to facilitate you in the future as well,” he added.
FIRs: Various teams led by price control magistrates got registered cases on Monday against six shopkeepers for overcharging and hoarding.
These teams inspected over 300 shops and imposed fines of Rs45,900 on 76 vendors.
