PESHAWAR, Feb 2: Tribal elders belonging to different regions of Federally Administered Tribal Areas have threatened to besiege parliament if military operations, drone attacks and dislocation of people are not stopped within a week.

Following their protest rally on Saddar Road here on Saturday, the elders held a press conference and demanded registration of all the dislocated people as internally displaced persons (IDPs) besides paying Rs3 million compensation each to the dislocated families.

Leading a group of elders from tribal agencies, the office-bearers of Muttahida Qabail Party, including Habib Noor Orakzai and Ghazi Khan Mehsud, said that thousands of people would be forced to move to Peshawar if drone attacks and military operations continued in Fata.—Bureau
