HYDERABAD, Jan 28: A five-year-old girl died of measles here on Monday at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH), raising the measles-related death toll to seven since Jan 1.

Focal person of the LUH Hyderabad branch Dr Rasheed Akhtar Memon said five-year-old Benazir, daughter of Akbar Bhand, who was admitted on Jan 14, died on Monday following post-measles complications. She was a resident of Hala Naka in Hyderabad.

He said that a total of 66 cases had been reported in the Hyderabad and Jamshoro branches of LUH.

Seven patients had died, 50 had been discharged while seven admitted to isolation wards of the LUH Hyderabad and two in Jamshoro branch so far, he said.
