Medical colleges test’s results

LAHORE, Jan 17: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) declared on Friday night the results of entry test for admission to medical and dental colleges in the Punjab.

Entry test chief coordinator Prof Dr Khaleequr Rehman said that Ayesha Anwar (roll number 1132) stood first by securing 89.955 per cent marks. (The percentage is on the basis of marks obtained in FSc and the entry test)

Faizan Mustafa (5431) and Farah Afzal (1029) are the next on merit lists with 89.909 per cent and 89.364 per cent marks, respectively.

The Punjab medical and dental colleges admission board will display the lists of the top 2000 candidates in all medical colleges of the province on Saturday (today).

Prof Khaleeq said the entry test results would also be launched on the UET website www.uet.edu.pk.

He said the photocopies of answer-sheets and master keys would be sent to all candidates who appeared for the entry test on Dec 29. As many as 8,896 candidates had applied for the entry test. However, around five to 10 per cent students remained absent.

Prof Khaleeq said the pre-admission entry test candidates could file complaints regarding any discrepancy in the results within 15 days.

The selected candidates will be required to submit their admission applications on the prescribed forms already available with them.

The merit for different medical colleges will be determined after the allocation of colleges to selected candidates.

It may be mentioned that the Punjab medical and dental colleges admission board will fill 1,621 seats, including 348 additional seats, on open merit and 162 seats on reserved basis allocated for the first year MBBS session 2002-03. The additional seats will be distributed among all the seven medical colleges.

According to the break-up of 1,111 seats, the King Edward Medical College will have 171 seats, Allama Iqbal Medical College 165, Fatima Jinnah Medical College 135, while the Nishtar Medical College, Quaid-i-Azam Medical College, Punjab Medical College, and Rawalpindi Medical College will have 159 seats each.

It may be mentioned that 67 seats in the FJMC will go to the federal government as its 50 per cent share in the college’s 135 seats.
