Suspension of visa after LoC incident

THE Indian government and the Indian army chief have shown strong reaction to the Line of Control firing incident while the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army have rejected the Indian accusation.

Pakistan has suggested that the United Nations Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan should investigate the recent ceasefire violations at the LoC.

Because of this, India has also suspended issuing visas to Pakistani senior citizens to a get visa on arrival at the border. The scheme had been recently launched.

The Pakistan hockey team which was in India to play in the Hockey India League (HIL) is also returning to Pakistan after protests by some political parties in India.

If India can suspend such activities from Pakistan, then why shouldn’t Pakistan ban Indian films from being screened in Pakistani cinemas? These films earn massive revenues for Bollywood producers and directors.

PEMRA should stop the broadcasting of programmes from Indian channels and direct Pakistani channels not to air Indian programmes and soap operas.

Pls do so imm. We are tired of being provoked by an insecure Pakistan. The Indian govt did the wrong thing by liberalizing the visa regime, allowing a chance that some unwanted element may slip thro. I would suggest sealing & welding the gates at Wagah/Attari.

Banning Hindi films has been tried so many times, but govt. has failed in that. Make your film industry to produce good films, then people will automatically stop seeing Hindi films....The main problem is the Punjabi dominated administration has a condescending attitude towards artistes and refer to them as "naachgaanewale log". Thats the reason why Pakistani film industry died.

What naive your are as if Pakistani programs are competitive to Indian programs and soap operas. You forget or don't know that you cut off head of an Indian soldier, mutilitate the body and return the headless body to India. If India did the same thing to a Pakistani soldier how would you react.

Ya I think all the relations between India and pakistan should be cut, not just bollywood films but also cricket, hockey, bilateral talks, trade etc.

Let me add a point here. Pakistani Foregin Minister Hina, instead of taking a balanced position, took an illogical and aggressive position and portrayed India as a war mongering nation. She conveniently forgot that India didn't go for a war although it had the excuse to do so in 2001 (Indian Parliament attack) and 2008 (Mumbai attack) and that all the Indo-Pak wars were started by Pakistan. Such an irresponsible statement from a FM and that too made in USA would not go unnoticed and unpunished.

Peace initiatives are acceptable and to be increased to ease tension and to have people to people contacts. However, it should come with no nonsense at Borders, LOC and in the form of across the borders terrorist activities? We should keep our 'strategic assets? under check and should be accountable for their misadventures, use or misuse?

Massive revenues??? The business that they do in Pakistan is peanuts for the producers of Indian movies compared to what they make in India. I don't think they will feel the pinch but if these movies are not shown in Pakistan, the people of Pakistan would be devoid of much needed light entertainment in their lives.
