Hub canal closure

Published January 24, 2013

KARACHI, Jan 23: Water supply from the Hub canal will remain suspended from Jan 28 to Feb 1, according to a statement issued by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board on Wednesday.

Daily water supply of 100 million gallons from the Hub dam would remain suspended, partially affecting supply to North Karachi, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, SITE, Orangi, Baldia, Kaemari, Lyari, Jamshed and Saddar areas. The closure is necessitated by the annual repair and maintenance of the canal.

The KWSB has made alternative arrangements to supply water to these areas via the K-3 system.—APP
