QUETTA, Jan 21: Anti-Terrorism Court judge Mohammad Ismail remanded three police officers of the Crime Investigation Department and another person in police custody on Monday for a week in a kidnapping case.

SP Tariq Manzoor, DSP Qutab Khan, DSP Bilal Ahmed and Hussain Lango, who were booked in the kidnapping for ransom case, were produced in the court amid tight security.

Talking to journalists, SP Manzoor said the arrest was a conspiracy against the department which had been investigating the cases of 100 missing persons on the orders of the Supreme Court.

“We were penalised for issuing arrest warrants against four intelligence officers in connection with 18 missing persons’ cases,” he claimed.

He said chargesheets of these cases had been completed and were to be produced before the Supreme Court on Jan 28 “but through a well-planned conspiracy, we have been implicated in a false case”.

He alleged that the FC personnel, who raided the CID’s office on Saturday night, took away relevant record with them.  “We were kept illegally in the FC camp at Ghaziabad for three days for which we wanted to lodge an FIR but it could not be done. We are ready to face all charges in court as we are not involved in any crime,” he said.

He said Abdul Qudoos, who was presented as a kidnap victim, was in fact involved in drug smuggling and other cases registered against him at different police station.
