GILGIT, Jan 11: The government has worked out a plan to grant time-scale-based promotions to lecturers, who are awaiting upgradation for a long time.

While talking to a delegation of college teachers, which called on him on Friday, the Education Minister Dr Ali Madad Sher said time-scale to lecturers will be awarded soon to end sense of deprivation among them, according to a press release. The minister also said hundreds of vacant seats would be filled in colleges to address shortage of teachers.

The minister assured that other problems of the teachers would also be resolved on priority basis.

PPP REORGANISATION: The Pakistan People’s Party has completed the process of restructuring and reorganisation of the party and will soon announce list of new office-bearers, sources said.

The party sources said separate lists of office-bearers at regional and district level had been finalised with consensus. They said the final list will be issued once it was okayed by the central leadership which is currently considering it.

It is pertinent to note here that the ruling party’s reorganisation process was triggered after the former general secretary Ghulam Mohammad was removed from office following disagreements with party leadership and governor GB. Later, leadership dissolved party cabinets.
