KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf said on Friday it was okay with the board if Pakistan ODI skipper Misbah-ul-Haq wanted to induct players from T20 squad into his ODI team during the ongoing tour of India.

“Misbah has requested to induct some T20 players into the ODI squad and we have told him that the board has no issue over that,” Zaka said.

Although all-rounder Shahid Afridi had initially been snubbed from the ODI squad, he may still get a nod for the ODIs because even before the tour began, Misbah had stated that Afridi could be retained in the ODI squad as well.

Another former skipper Shoaib Malik who has performed well in the T20s against India may graduate to the ODI squad.

Misbah will lead Pakistan in the three-match ODI series against India that begins from the 30th of this month with the second match set for Jan 3 and the last match to be played on Jan 6. —Agencies
