NAWABSHAH, Dec 28: At least three persons were crushed to death under a stone-laden truck that overturned and fell on their house after getting stuck in a manhole outside in Malik Colony here on Friday.
Shaukat Jatt, 40, his mother, Rafiqa Bibi, 55, and an eight-year-old nephew, Ibrahim, died on the spot. The head of the family, Shafqat Jatt, brother of the deceased, was injured in the accident and was rushed to the Peoples Medical College Hospital, where he was provided treatment.
The truck was impounded by the police but the driver managed to escape.
