Four suspected militants killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Dec 18: Four suspected militants were killed in a gunfight on Tuesday, police in Indian-held Kashmir said.    

Superintendent of Police Imtiyaz Hussain said that police and Indian army launched a joint operation after receiving a tip that several militants were hiding in a house in the town of Sopore and added that at least four suspects were killed in the daylong gunbattle.

There was no independent confirmation of the incident.—AP
